How is Xalatan taken?
Follow the directions for taking Xalatan provided by your doctor. It should be applied only once a day. More frequent administration may reduce its effectiveness. Apply one drop to the eye in the evening. If you are using other eye drops to lower pressure, allow at least 5 minutes between applications of the two medications. Contact lenses should be removed before the drug is applied. Wait 15 minutes before reinserting them. If you miss a dose apply it as soon as possible. If you don't remember until the next day, skip the dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not take two doses at once.

Are there any effects of taking Xalatan with other medications?
Some medicines may interact with Xalatan. Inform your doctor of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. Mixing Xalatan with eye drops containing thiomersal can cause the formation of solid substances in the eye. To avoid this problem, administer the drops at least 5 minutes apart.

How should I store Xalatan?
Store unopened Xalatan bottles in the refrigerator. Once opened, the bottles may be stored at room temperature for up to 6 weeks. Protect from light.
