What is Ultram?
Ultram is a prescription pain medicine intended for people who have moderate to moderately severe chronic pain.
 
 
Are there any side effects associated with Ultram?
Side effects include agitation, anxiety, bloating and gas, constipation, convulsive movements, diarrhea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, feeling of elation, hallucinations, headache, indigestion, itching, nausea, nervousness, sweating, tremor, vomiting, and weakness. Patients should talk to their doctors about any side effects they experience while taking Ultram. Less common Ultram side effects may include abdominal pain, confusion, coordination problems, feeling of illness, flushing, frequent urination, inability to urinate, loss of appetite, menopausal symptoms, rash, sleeping problems, and visual problems. Rare Ultram side effects may include accidental injury, allergic reaction, altered taste, amnesia, coma, difficult or labored breathing, difficulty concentrating, dizziness or light-headedness upon standing, fainting, feeling of "pins and needles," fever, heightened reflexes, hives, menstrual problems, mental sluggishness or clouding, painful urination, rapid heartbeat, seizures, shivering, seizures, suicidal tendencies, and weight loss.
 
How is Ultram taken?
Always follow your doctors instructions on taking Ultram. Ultram may be taken with or without food. You may find it easiest to take Ultram tablets at the same times every day. You should not take more than the dose prescribed. If you miss a dose take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the one you missed and go back to your regular schedule. Do not take two doses at once. 
 
Are there any effects of taking Ultram with other medications?
There are certain medications that should be used with caution while taking Ultram. It is especially important to check with your doctor before combining Ultram with cyclobenzaprine, drugs known as MAO inhibitors, serotonin-boosting antidepressants, tricyclic antidepressants, major tranquilizers, narcotic pain relievers, promethazine, quinidine, sleeping pills, or tranquilizers.
 
How should I store Ultram?
Ultram should be stored at room temperature away from heat and direct light. Keep Ultram in the same container that you received it from the pharmacy.
