Protonix side effects may include diarrhea and headache.
If the side effects continue or are bothersome, check with
your doctor. Less common Protonix side effects may include abdominal pain, burping, gas, nausea,
and vomiting. Rare Protonix side effects may include insomnia and rash. |

| How is Protonix taken?
|
|
Follow the directions for taking Protonix provided by your doctor. Protonix may be taken with or without food. Do not chew, crush, or split the delayed-release tablets. If you are taking antacids you may continue to do so.
If you miss a dose take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the one you missed and go back to your regular schedule.
Do not take
two doses at once. |

| Are there any effects of taking Protonix with other medications?

Some medicines may interact with Protonix. Inform your doctor of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking.
It is especially important to check with your doctor before combining Protonix with
ampicillin, iron, or ketoconazole. |

| How should I store Protonix?
|
|
Store Protonix at room temperature in a tightly closed container, away from heat and light. |
