What is Nizoral?
Nizoral may be given to treat several fungal infections within the body. It may also be given to treat severe, hard-to-treat fungal skin infections. 
 
 
Are there any side effects associated with Nizoral?
Nizoral side effects may include nausea and vomiting . If the side effects continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. Less common Nizoral side effects may include abdominal pain and itching. Rare Nizoral side effects may include breast swelling (in men), depression, diarrhea, dizziness, drowsiness, fever and chills, headache, hives, impotence, light-sensitivity, and rash.
 
How is Nizoral taken?
Follow the directions for taking Nizoral provided by your doctor. You should keep taking the drug until tests show that your fungal infection has subsided. If you stop too soon, the infection might return. You may want to take Nizoral Tablets with meals to avoid stomach upset. Avoid alcohol and do not take with antacids. If antacids are necessary, you should wait 2 to 3 hours before taking them. If you miss a dose take the forgotten dose as soon as you remember. This will help to keep the proper amount of medicine in the body. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the one you missed and go back to your regular schedule. Do not take two doses at once.
 
Are there any effects of taking Nizoral with other medications?
Some medicines may interact with Nizoral. Inform your doctor of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. It is especially important to check with your doctor before combining Nizoral with alcoholic beverages, antacids, anticoagulants, anti-ulcer medications, astemizole, cisapride, cyclosporine, digoxin, drugs that relieve spasms, isoniazid, methylprednisolone, midazolam, oral diabetes drugs, phenytoin, rifampin, tacrolimus, terfenadine, theophyllines, or triazolam. 
 
How should I store Nizoral?
Store Nizoral at room temperature in a tightly closed container, away from heat and light.
