What is Hyzaar?
Hyzaar is a combination medication used in the treatment of high blood pressure.
 
 
Are there any side effects associated with Hyzaar?
Hyzaar side effects may include dizziness and upper respiratory infection. If the side effects continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. Less common Hyzaar side effects include abdominal pain, back pain, cough, fluid retention and swelling, heart palpitations, sinus inflammation, and skin rash.
 
How is Hyzaar taken?
Follow the directions for taking Hyzaar provided by your doctor. Hyzaar may be taken with or without food. Take Hyzaar exactly as directed. Try to take it at the same time each day so that it is easier to remember. If you miss a dose take the forgotten dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the one you missed and go back to your regular schedule. Do not take two doses at once.
 
Are there any effects of taking Hyzaar with other medications?
Some medicines may interact with Hyzaar. Inform your doctor of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. It is especially important to check with your doctor before taking Hyzaar with barbiturates, cholestyramine, colestipol, corticosteroids, diuretics that leave potassium in the body, indomethacin, insulin, ketoconazole, lithium, narcotic painkillers, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, other blood pressure-lowering drugs, oral diabetes drugs, potassium supplements, salt substitutes, sulfaphenazole, or troleandomycin.
 
How should I store Hyzaar?
Store Hyzaar at room temperature in a tightly closed container, away from heat and light.
