| Are there any side effects associated with Famvir?
|
|
Famvir side effects may include constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, fatigue, fever, headache, nausea,
and vomiting.
If the side effects continue or are bothersome, check with
your doctor. Less common Famvir side effects may include abdominal pain, back pain, chills and fever, gas, indigestion, injury, insomnia, irritated sinuses, itching, joint pain, loss of appetite, pain, prickling or burning sensation of the skin, sleepiness, sore throat,
and upper respiratory infection. |

| How is Famvir taken?
|
|
Follow the directions for taking Famvir provided by your doctor. For maximum benefit, take Famvir for the full time of treatment, even if your symptoms begin to clear up. Do not, however, take Famvir more often or for a longer time than your doctor directs. You may take Famvir with meals or in between.
If you miss a dose take the forgotten dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the one you missed and go back to your regular schedule.
Do not take
two doses at once. |

| Are there any effects of taking Famvir with other medications?

Some medicines may interact with Famvir. Inform your doctor of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking.
It is especially important to check with your doctor before combining Famvir with probenecid, a drug used to treat gout. |

| How should I store Famvir?
|
|
Store Famvir at room temperature in a tightly closed container, away from heat and light. |
