| Are there any side effects associated with Effexor?
|
|
Effexor side effects include abnormal dreams, abnormal ejaculation or orgasm, anxiety, appetite loss, blurred vision, chills, constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, dry
mouth, frequent urination, flushing, gas, headache, impotence, infection, insomnia, muscle tension, nausea, nervousness, rash, sleepiness, sweating, tingling feeling, tremor, upset stomach, vomiting, weakness,
and yawning. If the side effects continue or are bothersome, check with your
doctor. Less common side effects include abnormal taste, abnormal thinking, agitation, chest pain, confusion, decreased sex drive, depression, dilated pupils, dizziness upon standing up, high blood pressure, itching, loss of identity, rapid heartbeat, ringing in the ears, trauma, twitching, urinary problems,
and weight loss. |

| How is Effexor taken?
|

Follow the directions for taking Effexor provided by your doctor. Take
Effexor once at the same time each day with food. Swallow the capsule
whole with water. Do not divide, crush, or chew it. If you miss a dose
skip the missed dose and continue with your next scheduled dose. Do not
take two doses at once. It may take several weeks before you begin to feel
better. |

| Are there any effects of taking Effexor with other medications?
|
|
Some medicines may interact with Effexor. Inform your doctor of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking.
Combining Effexor with MAO inhibitors could cause a fatal reaction. Effexor does not interact with
alcohol but it is highly recommended to avoid alcohol while taking Effexor. If you have high blood pressure or liver disease, or are elderly, check with your doctor before combining Effexor with cimetidine
(Tagamet). You should consult with your doctor before combining Effexor with drugs that affect the central nervous system,
including narcotic painkillers, sleep aids, tranquilizers, antipsychotic medicines, and other antidepressants. |

| How should I store Effexor?
|

Store Effexor at room temperature in a tightly closed container, away from heat and light. |
