What is Diazepam?

Diazepam is an antianxiety agent used primarily for short-term relief of mild to moderate anxiety. It may also be used to treat symptoms of acute alcohol withdrawals, to help control epilepsy, or to relieve muscle spasms. |

| Are there any side effects associated with Diazepam?

Common side effects for Diazepam include clumsiness and sleepiness.. If
the side effects continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. |

| How is Diazepam taken? |
| Take Diazepam exactly as prescribed. If you are taking
Diazepam for epilepsy, make sure you take it every day at the same time.
If you miss a dose take it as soon as you remember if it is within an hour or so of the scheduled time. If you do not remember until later, skip the dose you missed and go back to your regular schedule.
Do not take two doses at the same time. |

| Are there any effects of taking Diazepam with other medications?

Some medicines may interact with Diazepam. Inform your doctor of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking.
It is especially important to check with your doctor before combining
Diazepam with antiseizure drugs, antidepressant drugs, barbiturates, cimetidine,
digoxin, disulfiram, fluoxetine, isoniazid, levodopa, major tranquilizers, MAO inhibitors,
narcotics, omeprazole, oral contraceptives, propoxyphene, ranitidine, or
rifampin. |

| How should I store Diazepam?

Store Diazepam at room temperature in a tightly closed container, away from heat and light. |
