What is Buspirone?
Buspirone is used in the treatment of anxiety disorders and for short-term relief of the symptoms of anxiety. 
 
 
Are there any side effects associated with Buspirone?
Buspirone side effects may include dizziness, dry mouth, fatigue, headache, light-headedness, nausea, nervousness, and unusual excitement. If the side effects continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. Less common or rare Buspirone side effects may include anger/hostility, blurred vision, bone aches/pain, confusion, constipation, decreased concentration, depression, diarrhea, fast, fluttery heartbeat, incoordination, muscle pain/aches, numbness, pain or weakness in hands or feet, rapid heartbeat, rash, restlessness, stomach and abdominal upset, sweating/clamminess, tingling or pins and needles, tremor, urinary incontinence, vomiting, and weakness. 
 
How is Buspirone taken?
Follow the directions for taking Buspirone provided by your doctor. Do not be discouraged if you feel no immediate effect. The full benefit of this drug may not be seen for 1 to 2 weeks after you start to take it. If you miss a dose take the forgotten dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the one you missed and go back to your regular schedule. Do not take two doses at once.
 
Are there any effects of taking Buspirone with other medications?
Some medicines may interact with Buspirone. Inform your doctor of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. It is especially important to check with your doctor before combining Buspirone with the blood-thinning drug Coumadin, haloperidol, MAO inhibitors, or trazodone. 
 
How should I store Buspirone?
Store Buspirone at room temperature in a tightly closed container, away from heat and light.
