| Are there any side effects associated with Betoptic?
|
|
Betoptic side effects may include temporary eye discomfort.
If the side effects continue or are bothersome, check with
your doctor. Less common or rare Betopic side effects may include allergic reactions, asthma, changes in taste or smell, congestive heart failure, decreased corneal sensitivity, dead skin, depression, difficulty breathing, difficulty sleeping or drowsiness, dizziness, hair loss, headache, hives, inflammation of the cornea, inflammation of the tongue, intolerance to light, itching, peeling skin, pupils of different sizes, red eyes and skin, slow heartbeat, sluggishness, tearing, thickening chest secretions, vertigo,
and wheezing. |

| How is Betoptic taken?
|
|
Follow the directions for taking Betoptic provided by your doctor. Betoptic S Suspension should be shaken well before each dose.
Wash your hands thoroughly. Gently pull your lower eyelid down to form a pocket between your eye and eyelid.
Hold the bottle on the bridge of your nose or on your forehead. Do not touch the applicator tip to any surface, including your eye.
Tilt your head back and squeeze the medication into your eye. Close your eyes gently.
Keep your eyes closed for 1 to 2 minutes. Wait for 5 to 10 minutes before using any other
eyedrops. Do not rinse the dropper. If you miss a dose use it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the one you missed and go back to your regular schedule.
Do not take
two doses at once. |

| Are there any effects of taking Betoptic with other medications?
|
|
Some medicines may interact with Betoptic. Inform your doctor of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking.
It is especially important to check with your doctor before combining Betoptic with
drugs that alter mood, oral beta blockers, or reserpine. |

| How should I store Betoptic?
|
|
Store Betoptic at room temperature in a tightly closed container, away from heat and light. |
