What is Aricept?
Aricept can provide some relief from the symptoms of early Alzheimer's disease. 
 
 
Are there any side effects associated with Aricept?
Aricept side effects may include diarrhea, fatigue, insomnia, loss of appetite, muscle cramps, nausea, and vomiting. If the side effects continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. Other Aricept side effects may include abnormal dreams, arthritis, bruising, depression, dizziness, fainting, frequent urination, headache, pain, sleepiness, and weight loss.
 
How is Aricept taken?
Follow the directions for taking Aricept provided by your doctor. Aricept should be taken once a day just before bedtime. Be sure it's taken every day. If Aricept is not taken regularly, it won't work. Aricept can be taken with or without food. If you miss a dose make it up as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the one that was missed and go back to the regular schedule. Do not take two doses at once.
 
Are there any effects of taking Aricept with other medications?
Some medicines may interact with Aricept. Inform your doctor of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. It is especially important to check with your doctor before combining Aricept with antispasmodic drugs, bethanechol chloride, carbamazepine, dexamethasone, ketoconazole, phenobarbital, phenytoin, quinidine, or rifampin.
 
How should I store Aricept?
Store Aricept at room temperature in a tightly closed container, away from heat and light.
