Actos is used to control high blood sugar in type 2 diabetes. |

| Are there any side effects associated with Actos?
|
|
Actos side effects may include headache, hypoglycemia, muscle aches, respiratory tract infection, sinus inflammation, sore throat, swelling,
and tooth disorder. If
the side effects continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. Less common
Actos side effects may include anemia, shortness of breath, and weight gain. |

| How is Actos taken?

Follow the directions for taking Actos provided by your doctor. Actos should be taken once a day with or without meals.
If you miss a dose take it as soon as you remember. If you miss a dose on one day, skip it and go back to your regular schedule.
Do not take
two doses at once. |

| Are there any effects of taking Actos with other medications?
|
|
Some medicines may interact with Actos. Inform your doctor of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking.
It is especially important to check with your doctor before combining Actos with
ketoconazole or midazolam. It is possible that Actos may reduce the effectiveness of birth control pills
containing ethinyl estradiol and norethindrone. To guard against an
unwanted pregnancy, be sure to use some other form of contraception. |

| How should I store Actos?

Store Actos at room temperature in a tightly closed container, away from heat and light. |
